Where to go in United States for golf vacations

Let's take a look at the top golfing vacation destinations in the US. Climate plays a vital role in making a place golf friendly.

With excellent golf facilities in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona ranks as one of the best golfing destinations in the United States. This state has desert spreading over a large area, with temperatures ranging from 100 to 110 degrees in summer with low humidity. This is the ideal time for golf lovers to descend upon Arizona. There are golfing facilities with different amenities and therefore, different prices.
There is one more advantage in visiting Arizona during summer. The crowd will be less and rooms are available at discounted rates. During winter, conditions with dry air and sunshine prevail, making it ideal for playing golf.

The west coast state of California also attracts golf enthusiasts in large numbers. Palm Springs which has been proclaimed by many as the ~golfing capital of the world~, is the hottest golfing vacation spot there. Close to Long Beach, south of Los Angeles, is the Orange County whose golf courses are revered by many. They have been designed by well known names such as Ted Robinson, Tom Fazio etc. These two spots together draw avid golfers to California.

The other destination for golf buffs is Las Vegas, the 'Sin City'. There are any number of courses between Laughlin and the west, within Las Vegas, towards St. George and between Utah and the east. Most of the golf courses here have been built on desert as well as urban locations.

Apart from the beautiful beaches, Florida also has some of the most beautiful golf courses in the United States.
Coupled with sunny weather, golfing in Florida is pleasant.
Orlando features the best golf courses in the state. The other places which have golf facilities are Daytona Beach, Jacksonville and Destin etc.

In the Midwest, the best golf courses can be found in Illinois. Apart from Chicago with its indoor golf links of America, and World Golf Dome, other prominent golf course is the Dubsdread in Lemont, Illinois, where PGA players love to come each year to vie in the Western Open. On the West Coast, you have Carolina which is home to a range of well maintained golf courses which test the skills of all levels of golfers. These rate among the best courses in the world. Brunswick, Charleston, Hilton Head and Charlotte have the major golf courses.

Hawaii is probably the best choice for a golf trip combined with a vacation for the whole family. Different Hawaii Islands offer different golf courses, but generally there are many famous golf courses on every Hawaii Island. If you're going to be on Maui, you can play at Sandalwood, which is a relatively new, but still very well- known golf course. When you're done playing there, you can hop over to the Big Island and play at the Kona Country Club or the Mauna Kea golf course.

If you're staying on Oahu (Honolulu), for instance, you can play at courses like the Waikele Golf Club or the Coral Creek Golf Course. Both of these courses are designed to take elements from the terrain and use them in the course itself.
